The laser eye lift (laser eyebrow lift or forehead lift) is a non-invasive laser treatment that tightens the skin of the forehead and brow area to lift droopy eyebrows and heavy upper eyelids – no cuts, stitches, needles or downtime. It is performed with the genuine Fotona SP Dynamis laser, using Fotona’s SmoothEye protocol for the eye area, by Dr Elif Benar’s team, which has used Fotona since 2018 and carried out more than 5,000 Fotona treatments. Sessions take 20–40 minutes at Dr Elif Clinic, 54 Harley Street, London. Some patients notice a subtle lift immediately; the full effect builds over two to three months as new collagen forms, and results can last one to two years.

What is a laser eye lift?
A laser eye lift is a targeted version of our Fotona 4D laser facelift, focused on the forehead, eyebrows and upper eyelids. Instead of surgery (a brow lift or blepharoplasty) or injectables, the laser gently heats the skin of the brow and forehead so that it tightens and gradually lifts. It is sometimes called a laser brow lift or laser forehead lift; at Dr Elif Clinic the same protocol is used for all three, adjusted to where the heaviness sits.
What causes droopy eyebrows and heavy eyelids?
- Sun exposure. Prolonged sun exposure breaks down collagen and elastin in the skin, leading to premature sagging of the brows and the surrounding area.
- Skin laxity with age. As the skin loses elasticity, the forehead and brow area sag, the eyebrows sit lower and the upper eyelids look heavier.
How does the laser eye lift work?
- The laser energy heats the skin tissue and stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. This process tightens the skin around the forehead and eyebrow area, creating a lifting effect.
- It also improves skin elasticity and firmness, reducing the appearance of sagging or droopy eyebrows and the hooded look of the upper eyelids.
- The laser targets specific layers of the skin precisely, which keeps the treatment safe and the risk of complications low.
Fotona SmoothEye: how we treat the eye area
Fotona SmoothEye is Fotona’s protocol for the skin around the eyes, performed on the SP Dynamis. It uses the Er:YAG laser mainly in its gentle, non-ablative SMOOTH mode to heat the thin eyelid skin and stimulate collagen, with a very light surface pass where texture and fine lines need it. For the brow and forehead we build heat across the forehead so the skin tightens and the brow gradually lifts. Each area is treated differently:
| Area | Typical concern | How we approach it |
|---|---|---|
| Forehead and brows | Low or heavy brows, forehead lines | Heat built across the forehead to tighten the skin and gradually lift the brow |
| Upper eyelid skin | Hooding, crepey upper lid | Gentle non-ablative SmoothEye passes on the lid skin, well away from the lash line |
| Lower eyelids | Crepey skin, fine lines | SmoothEye heat plus, where suitable, a very light surface pass for texture |
| Crow’s feet | Lines at the outer corner of the eye | Combined thermal and light resurfacing passes |
Many patients combine the eye treatment with a full-face Fotona 4D laser facelift in the same visit.
Why do patients choose the laser eyebrow lift?
- Non-invasive – no cuts, stitches or downtime.
- Natural results – the lift develops gradually as collagen regenerates over the weeks after treatment, so nobody can tell you have had anything done.
- Quick and comfortable – sessions typically last 20–40 minutes, with minimal discomfort.
- Safe and precise – the laser targets specific layers of the skin, reducing the risk of complications.
- Immediate tightening – some patients notice a subtle lift straight away due to collagen contraction.
- Long-term improvement – the full lifting effect becomes visible as collagen builds up over two to three months.
- Lasting results – results can last up to one to two years, with occasional touch-ups recommended to sustain the lift.
What to expect: the treatment, results and downtime
Your treatment begins with a consultation with Dr Elif Benar to assess the brow position, the skin of the forehead and the upper eyelids, and to confirm that the laser eye lift is the right option. The session itself takes 20–40 minutes and is comfortable, with no anaesthesia needed. There is no downtime: you can return to work or your daily activities straight away. Some patients see a subtle lift immediately; the main result builds over two to three months and can last one to two years, with an occasional touch-up to maintain it. The number of sessions is agreed at your consultation.
Laser eye lift vs surgery and other options
A surgical brow lift or upper blepharoplasty gives a larger, permanent change but involves incisions, anaesthesia and recovery time. The laser eye lift is for people who want a natural, gradual lift of the brow and upper lid without surgery, or who are not ready for it. For the whole face, the same technology is used in our 4D laser facelift; for the under-eye area, see Dr Elif Wrinkle-Free Under Eye™; and for tear troughs, tear trough filler. Dr Elif will recommend the right combination at your consultation.
Who carries out your laser eye lift?
Every patient is assessed by a doctor first. Dr Elif Benar, a dermatologist, checks the brow position, eyelid skin and any reason the treatment may not suit you, and sets the plan. Treatments are carried out by Dr Elif or by a laser-trained therapist working to her protocol and under her supervision. The clinic has used Fotona since 2018 and has carried out more than 5,000 Fotona treatments.
Safety around the eyes
The skin around the eyes is the thinnest on the face, so safety comes first. Your eyes are protected with laser eye shields or protective eyewear throughout, the laser is never aimed inside the eyelid margin, and the settings are kept conservative on thin skin. Side effects are usually limited to mild redness or slight puffiness for a few hours. Uncommon risks include prolonged redness, pigmentation change and, rarely, blistering if too much heat is used — which is why experience with this area matters. After treatment you have a follow-up review and a direct line to the clinic by WhatsApp or phone.
Fotona eye treatment for darker skin types
The non-ablative SmoothEye mode is well suited to many skin types. In Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI we lower the intensity of any surface pass or leave it out, to reduce the risk of pigmentation, and prepare the skin beforehand where needed.
