Morpheus8 London – RF Microneedling at Harley Street

Morpheus8 at Dr Elif Clinic, 54 Harley Street, London, is planned by dermatologist Dr Elif Benar. We have offered Morpheus8 since 2019 and have carried out more than 5,000 Morpheus8 treatments on the face, neck, eye area and body. Before any treatment we measure skin and fat thickness with ultrasound, because with RF microneedling the result depends far more on choosing the right depth and energy for each area than on the device itself.

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment made by InMode. Fine, insulated needles enter the skin to a set depth and release radiofrequency energy at their tips. The heat remodels the dermis and the layer just beneath it, which stimulates new collagen and elastin and tightens and smooths the skin over the following months.

Because the needle depth can be adjusted, Morpheus8 can treat very different problems: crepey skin around the eyes, texture and enlarged pores, acne scars, early laxity along the jawline and neck, and loose skin on the body. That flexibility is also why Morpheus8 is not a “one setting fits all” treatment. The same device can give an excellent result or an unwanted one, depending on how it is set for each area.

Why Morpheus8 experience matters more than owning the device

Many clinics offer “RF microneedling”. Far fewer use Morpheus8 itself every week, across the face, eye area, neck, acne scars and body. Each area has different skin thickness, fat and anatomy, and the judgement needed to treat them safely comes from doing a large number of cases.

At Dr Elif Clinic we have used Morpheus8 since 2019 and have carried out more than 5,000 treatments. This volume means we see how different faces respond at 3 and 6 months, and we adjust our settings from real follow-up rather than from a manufacturer’s default programme.

Depth, energy and passes: how we set Morpheus8 for each area

The skill in Morpheus8 is not putting the needles into the skin. It is deciding, zone by zone, how deep to go, how much RF energy to use, how many passes to make and which tip to choose. Published Morpheus8 protocols use different depth and energy approaches for thin, bony areas (such as the forehead and around the eyes), soft-tissue areas (such as the cheeks and jowls) and the body. We never treat the temple, cheek, jowl and eye area with the same parameters.

Ultrasound before treatment: protecting facial fat

In October 2025 the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a safety communication on radiofrequency microneedling after reports of burns, scarring, fat loss, disfigurement and nerve damage (summary on Healio). For us, the lesson is clear: deeper and hotter is not better. The best Morpheus8 results come from correct depth, energy and fat-preservation judgement, not from the most aggressive settings.

This is why every Morpheus8 face and neck treatment at Dr Elif Clinic starts with an ultrasound measurement of skin and fat thickness. If your face is slim, your temples or mid-cheeks are already hollow, or the fat layer is thin in a particular area, we reduce the depth and energy there — or avoid that area entirely. Where the fat layer is thicker, for example along the lower face in some patients, we can safely work deeper.

• We map each zone before choosing depth, energy and number of passes
• We lower the energy over areas where facial nerves lie closer to the surface
• We protect subcutaneous fat in thin faces, where volume loss would age the face
• We never treat an area “harder” simply to make the result faster

Is Morpheus8 the right treatment for you?

Morpheus8 can be used for skin tightening, acne scars, jawline contour, eye-area wrinkles and body laxity — but these are different problems. A good assessment first separates what is really causing your concern:

• Dermal laxity and texture — usually a good match for Morpheus8
• Excess fat under the chin or along the jowls — may suit Morpheus8 with deeper settings, or another treatment such as Endolift
• Volume loss — Morpheus8 does not replace lost volume and can worsen hollowness if used too deep; a biostimulator such as Sculptra or filler may suit you better
• Acne scars — Morpheus8 works well as part of a scar plan
• Pigmentation — Morpheus8 is not a pigment treatment; other treatments come first

Recent systematic reviews of RF microneedling report improvement in skin texture and laxity, but the protocols and results vary widely between studies. That is why we plan every course around the individual patient, and if Morpheus8 is not the best option for you, we will tell you and explain the alternatives.

Morpheus8 around the eyes

The skin of the lower eyelid and crow’s-feet area is the thinnest on the face and sits over bone. We treat it with low depth, a fine tip and cautious energy, staying away from the eyelid margin. Morpheus8 can soften crepey under-eye skin and fine lines here; for more marked crepiness of the eyelids, Tixel may be recommended instead or as well.

Who carries out your Morpheus8 treatment?

Every Morpheus8 patient at Dr Elif Clinic is assessed by a doctor first. Dr Elif Benar, a dermatologist, decides whether Morpheus8 is right for you, which areas to treat and which settings to use. Treatments are carried out by Dr Elif or by a trained therapist working to her protocol and under her supervision, so every course follows a dermatologist’s plan.

Dr Elif also trains other doctors in Morpheus8 — teaching the parameters, patient selection and how to prevent and manage complications. The clinic has two dermatologists on site, Dr Elif Benar and Dr Hasan Benar, so a doctor is always available if your skin needs review during or after your course.

Morpheus8 for darker skin types

Morpheus8 delivers its energy below the skin surface, which makes it a useful option for many skin types. It is not risk-free, however: in Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI there is a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Published Morpheus8 protocols reduce RF energy and the number of passes for darker skin, and we do the same. As dermatologists, we also prepare the skin before treatment where needed and manage any pigment change early.

Genuine InMode Morpheus8 and single-use sterile tips

“RF microneedling” and Morpheus8 are not the same thing. We use the genuine InMode Morpheus8 platform with sterile, single-use disposable tips, and the device is maintained to the manufacturer’s standards. Whichever clinic you choose, it is reasonable to ask which device will be used on you.

Morpheus8 is an invasive medical procedure, not a facial. Treatments are carried out with full infection-control precautions, and the clinic has a clear pathway for assessing and managing any complication.

Side effects, risks and aftercare

After Morpheus8 it is normal to have redness, swelling and small grid marks from the needles for about 2–4 days. Less common side effects include prolonged redness, post-inflammatory pigmentation, acne-like spots and infection. Rarely, RF microneedling can cause burns, scarring, fat loss or nerve irritation — the risks highlighted by the FDA — which is why our settings are chosen conservatively and after ultrasound measurement.

We do not work on a “treatment done, goodbye” basis. You receive written aftercare, a follow-up review, and a direct line to the clinic by WhatsApp or phone, so that any concern — unusual redness, pigment change, signs of infection, a hollow area or altered sensation — is seen by a doctor quickly.

What to expect: session, downtime and number of treatments

• Consultation: assessment by a doctor, ultrasound measurement and a treatment plan
• On the day: numbing cream is applied before treatment
• Course: usually 3 sessions, 4 weeks apart
• Downtime: redness and swelling for about 2–4 days; most people return to work within a few days
• Results: collagen builds gradually, with results settling over 3–6 months

Morpheus8 with exosomes (optional)

Some patients choose to add a topical exosome serum, applied to the skin straight after Morpheus8 while the micro-channels are open. The aim is to support skin recovery after treatment. Research on exosomes in skin care is still at an early stage, so we see this as an optional extra rather than a necessary part of Morpheus8. The exosome add-on has an additional fee; ask us for the current price at your consultation.

Morpheus8 before and after photos

Before-and-after photos are only useful if they are honest. We take photos in the same light, angle and expression, and judge results at 3–6 months rather than straight after treatment, when swelling can make skin look tighter than it really is.
